Are you having trouble studying? Do you find yourself being distracted by your phone when you're supposed to be working? Well, creating a proper study space may be your solution!
With the right equipment, some organisation and a personal touch, you can create your own study sanctuary!
Find a good desk and chair
If you’re not comfortable, study is near impossible. But you have to make sure you’re not too comfortable, so you don’t fall asleep while studying your algebra! Make sure to have a desk with adequate space so your books dont have to compete for your attention.
Ensure you have adequate lighting
Using a desk lamp to focus light on your workspace can help you focus on the information on front of you and avoid being distracted by the surrounding area.
Gather your supplies!
Ok some people go a bit overboard here, but make sure you at least have the bare essentials so you don’t waste time fumbling around for a pen or refill pad.
Keep your workspace tidy
There is nothing worse than spending precious study time looking for those helpful poetry notes your teacher gave you a few months ago. Organise your study matierials by course and topic to allow easy access to all your materials.
Although it is near impossible for some of us, try leave your electronic devices outside of your study room. If you must have them with you, try an app called Freedom to block your distracting apps during your study time.
Only use your space for study
Try to use a room specifically for study and avoid using rooms such as your bedroom if possible. If you have to use your bedroom, try angle your desk away from your bed so you're not thinking about having a nap while you're studying!
Have a plan!
Use myStudyPal as your roadmap towards exam success. Set up the calendar sync with your mobile to get alerts of when your study session is about to start. No more time wasted because it's 7.03 and you were supposed to start studying at 7 so you now have to wait until 7.30!
